Pico, My Leonberger, Needs Surgery
Pico needs to have a Cranial Cruciate Ligament repair surgery. When the CCL is torn or injured, the tibia (shin bone) slides forward with respect to the femur (thigh bone), which is known as a positive drawer sign. Most dogs with this injury cannot walk normally and experience pain. The resulting instability damages the cartilage and surrounding bones and leads to osteoarthritis (OA).
Our hearts bleed watching him gimp around when he used to go everywhere participating in most of our outdoor activities. His favorite was cross country skiing.
He’s a survivor for a reason for he had parvo as a pup. Will you please help him continue his fight for a good life and contribute funds for his surgery?
