On December 11 while dealing with an equine emergency on my farm, The Pickle was brutally attacked by my newly rescued dog Pepper. Pickle and i have fostered over 40 dogs and this was unprovoked. Pickle did not fight back and Pepper's intent (based on the severity and location of the wounds ) was deemed by the vet as "intent to kill". We do not know why this happened. There was something in this puppy's wiring that snapped. Its happens and its no ones fault.
Pickle was rushed into surgery and was in the hospital for 24 hours. Her injuries were extensive and she is lucky to be alive. The vet bill is over $3500. As I am just starting to build my freelance design business (post covid layoffs and unemployment) this event and expense is a tremendous hardship on me and my canine and equine family.
Some friends have asked if they can help with the vet bills. This is my reason for setting up this fund.
Pickle has quite a fan club. If you can donate to her bill, we would both appreciate it. If you cannot, no worries! We just ask for healing good thoughts. No donation is too small and we appreciate all of you and your well wishes. It's very hard to ask for help. Especially during the holidays and the hardships in the world right now.
The puppy was deemed not to be suited for rehoming as she unfortunately was shown to be a risk to dogs and potentially humans. I do not wish to talk details and appreciate your understanding of the severity and devastatingly difficult decisions we have made to keep all safe. Bless all of you and thank you.
