On May 19, 2020, my soul mate, husband, best friend and best Dad in the whole world suffered a stroke.  This was completely unexpected.  He was healthy and active.  There were no warning signs.  Someone was watching out over us that day.  If the chain of events didn't happen the way that they did, we would not have had the ability to have TPA administered.  I have no doubt that I witnessed a miracle that day.  I saw my husband in a matter of minutes, go from not being able to speak, confused, couldn't follow commands, couldn't say his name, not aware of where he was...  to being able to communicate within 24 hrs.  TPA saved his life.  After a stay in Neuro ICU, we are glad that he is home.  The first 24 hrs he was home, was extremely difficult.  Headache pain levels have consistently stayed at a 10.  He hasn't been able to sleep because of the sever pain, therefore, his brain can not start the healing process.  At best, he was able to sleep maybe 20 minutes and then would wake up crying and grabbing his head.  It's been heartbreaking.  With amazing friends and Drs., we have been able to start managing his pain to maintain a 5; which is a start.  He has a journey ahead of him.  Our daughters, Amber and Kimberlyn, have been helping me care of him around the clock.  So many people have reached out to us asking what they can do.  We are among the many, that do not have health insurance.  I can't even imagine what the bills are going to be: two ER's and Neuro ICU.  I need to swallow my pride and ask for help.  I know that God has a plan for us, and things will work out the way they are supposed to.  Thank you for all the prayers, love and support from all!  I've been reading all the texts and comments to him.  He's just speechless.  Gene can't wait to be able to speak to everyone soon!  Keep the prayers coming and know that there are no words to express our gratitude.
