"Now" is a one-woman play written and performed by TAMIR.
Growing up in Israel serving in the Army in a culture of guns and grenades,  violence was the norm. Many turn to suicide to blot it all out.
     It is a personal story but one that simmers in the hearts of many, with one million people taking their lives annually worldwide. With easy access to guns the prevalence of suicide is rising.
     I am focusing on the healing that comes through theater, the power of words especially the plays of Shakespeare, paving the way from the fragmentation and overwhelm of trauma to being present in the now.
A universal cry for meaning and peace -
               War never determines who is right, just who is left.
     By speaking, sharing, and creating I believe the taboo of this painful subject can be lovingly addressed and give those who despair the inspiration to embrace life.

The funds are to be used:
*  pay the director Martin Jason Asprey;
* rent for studio space;
* create a website;
* marketting;
* GoFundMe fees.

     I would like to launch into the next phase of a full production starting in mid September '18. The need for this work is immediate, mostly among vets but sadly for all strata of society both young and senior.

     The idea that theater can change peoples' lives, bring hope, self scrutiny and compassion for those stuck in the frozen inaction of depression touches me to the core of my being.
Your act of kindness and generosity will make that possible and I am deeply grateful.
