Picha is an independent Art and Research Center based in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo.

For more than a decade, Picha has supported artists, researchers, and thinkers by offering a free space for creation, experimentation, and critical reflection.

Today, Picha is at risk.

Due to rising operational costs and the decrease of international funding, the survival of this unique cultural space is threatened.

This campaign is an urgent call to keep Picha alive, without urgent support, Picha risks slowing down — or worse, closing. This fundraising campaign is about survival, but also about continuity.

Funds raised will be used to support:

Basic operating costs (rent, utilities, maintenance)

Artistic and research programs

Public activities and workshops

Minimal staff and coordination costs

The 9th Edition of the Lubumbashi Biennial

We are committed to transparency and will regularly update donors on how the funds are used.

Picha has always been built collectively. Today, we are asking our community — locally and internationally — to stand with us.
