It has been some time and the majority of the smoke has settled. With this the realization of the amount that was lost and the effort to pick up the pieces for Cal Leanne and the two young boys seems overwhelming.
I was motivated to do this for the Piccolo family while speaking with Cal as he talked of his level of participation with the County, insurance adjusters as well as FEMA and seemed overwhelmed.
Cal shared that like a salmon he returns to the burnt lot on a daily basis unsure why, he stands amongst the ash and reflects on the Home of his dreams in the Redwoods with the stream running by. Cal shared how he misses the sounds of the creek, blue jays and laughter of the children. The Piccolos are lucky to be living with the in-laws but miss Home and could use some help. There were things lost that cannot be replaced family air looms and fishing memorable that remains priceless. As the cost to rebuild rises and the demand for lumber goes up, Cal, Leanne, and the Boys Lorenzo and Carmelo would appreciate any gesture of kindness.
