On September 17th, 2021 Melissa Nicole Piccione's life was tragically taken. While on her way home from work she was struck and killed by a drunk driver. Melissa was a Sergeant with the CDOC.  

There is nothing that can be said to truly encompass the impact Mel Barton Piccione had. She has always been the most positive, motivational and uplifting person and her sudden and tragic loss has shaken the core of so many. Her energetic and compassionate nature was so heartwarming and welcomed by everyone.

As we know the world lost such an incredible human being but with that said, a family lost one of their most beloved family members. Their rock, if you will. Without doubt, getting through this time for Brian, Kourt, Kyle, AJ, Matthew and Christian (as well as her parents, baby G, Bobo) will be the hardest time in their lives.
