"She would never say anything bad about anyone. She's just so spiritual and loves being around her friends and family." That is La Kota Plafcan's aunt Susan talking about her very special niece. La Kota has spent her whole life beating various types of cancer including acute lymphoblastic leukemia and colon cancer. At her most recent chemotherapy visit at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, a thief broke into her parents' car stealing her iPad and money set aside to purchase a wig. La Kota wasn't concerned about the material items, but the loss of her photos on her iPad is devastating. We were able to secure a donated iPad, but would like to raise additional money to support the family, who lost a son to cancer 20 years ago, according to Susan.

La Kota loves to spend time with her friends and family, but isn't always able to be around them due to a compromised immune system from her cancer treatments. The iPad was her link to her friends and family. In addition to spending time with loved ones, La Kota also loves sewing and spending time up north, near her grandfather.
