Hi! I'm piano teacher and piano player Leon in the lovely San Francisco Bay Area.  Last week I broke my hand. Specifically a clean break in the neck of my right hand's fourth finger. I was showing off in an attempt to impress my girlfriend. She was not impressed.  I'm fundraising the bare minimum - facilities fee for the surgery,

The Doc at the ER was not able to set the bone. A second attempt after swelling went down was equally unsuccessful. I'm a serious piano player and a devoted teacher. I cant mess with dr jack frost. I need doc hollywood.

I am fundraising for the facility fee and for the surgery and one other fee that I don't understand will be on top of that. My insurance will cover the facility fee, I'm just 700 short of my part. They have been very vague about the surgeon and post opp fees. I'm just guessing its double the facility fee. Recovery time is unknown but I plan to resume teaching the next day.  My students rely on me for their musical life and inspiration and doing this full time has been a dream come true for over five years now, I love what I do and I want to keep doing what I do best. My teaching style is very hands on, I teach through show and tell/copy and ear training, in addition to sight reading. My long term ability to teach will certainly be toast if I can not get this sorted in a high level way.

There are other worthwhile places to contribute your hard-earned money and no shortage of political candidates out there asking for it as well. But if you can share this, please do, and participate if you can!
