Hello Friends and Community Members,

 

We're raising startup money for a new Piano Lab at South Rowan High School in China Grove, NC.

 

Starting next school year, students at South Rowan will have the opportunity to participate in a brand new course, Class Piano, taught by Mr. Sevison. He's worked so hard to get the planning and supply list ready, and after his students showing tremendous interest, his idea was approved. There are 60, and counting, students who are wanting to take this class in the fall. This will be a great opportunity for them to gain new skills and grow as musicians.
When students were completing their registrations of classes for the 2022-2023 school year, both sections of the Class Piano were filled with less than 50% of the entire student body even having started their class registration for the school year. 

 

This new piano lab will provide students the equipment and skills for reading music and the concepts and fundamentals necessary to play the piano. Class Piano will be a course for students of all ability levels to continue to grow in their piano skills in a group classroom environment.

 

This money donated is not only an investment in our new equipment but also an investment in our outstanding students and future Raiders to come. Private piano lesson are expensive, and often not financially feasible for all students at South. We are looking to provide those students with the experience and ability to learn piano during the school day with no additional financial requirements.

 

 

Funds will be used for the following;

     16 Alesis Recital Keyboards - $229.99 per keyboard

     16 M-Audio HDH40 Piano Headphones - $39.99 per headphone
     16 M-Audio SP-2 (Sustain Pedals) - $29.99 per pedal
     16 Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course: Adult All-in-One Course Books Set (3 Books) - Level 1, 2, 3 - $49.90 per book set

     Misc. Items: Additional music, Classroom supplies, etc.

 

Any amount raised over the initial request will be used to allow our Piano Lab, in conjunction with the Choir, to grow and evolve to best suit the students needs!

This fundraiser will be closing at the end of the day, Sunday July 17th, so there is time for the supplies to be ordered and arrive before the start of the school year in August.
