Earthquake relief supplies to Nepal

Donativo protegido
Dear All,

A massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake rattled Nepal for about a minute on April 25th followed by almost 25 aftershocks in about 60 hours, devastating the country. The death toll, now over 2,500, continues to rise and is estimated to be around 10,000. Army and volunteer groups are being deployed to rescue victims trapped under collapsed buildings. The villages close to the epicenter have flattened. Hospitals in Kathmandu are overcrowded and medical supplies are running low.

Medical support, shelters, food, water and rescue efforts are vital in this time of panic.  This historical devastation leaves Nepal in ruins and faced with a long tumultuous period of rebuilding.

There is no electricity in most parts of the country.  Thousands are camping on the streets or on open lands. Demand is increasing for food, water, blankets, tents and medical supplies.  Demand will keep on rising for months to come. Nepal needs help and support from you.

The CSUF Physics Club would like to help Nepal by collecting funds for medical supplies, tents, blankets and solar flashlights which will be sent to Nepal via different organizations deployed for relief.

Our Staff Physicist, Shovit Bhari from Nepal has been communicating with different non-profit organizations to utilize our funds efficiently. We will be sending the supplies to Nepal with the volunteers from International Medical Relief who have scheduled 5 trips to Nepal in May.

Thank You,
