Physically alive but financially dead.

Hello, I'm Jamin Skipper. I am writing this from my hospital room as I slowly recover from nearly fatal case of flu and pneumonia. I spent the entire month of December 2023 in a coma and on full life support (ventilator, dialysis, external lung, heart assist pump, etc). I have been in the hospital for two months now and will probably be another month before I can be safely discharged with home healthcare.

My wife and son were also sick and although they weren't hospitalized they did each miss two weeks of work. In addition to the work missed due to illness, they also missed many days while managing issues with my care and treatment. Our financial situation is desperate.

A little background about me.

I am permanently disabled with multiple severe chronic health conditions and have been struggling to make ends meet. My monthly disability check doesn't fully cover my premiums for Medicare parts B, D, plan F Medicare supplement, and prescription copays so emergencies have maxed out the credit cards.

Money raised will be used to pay immediate critical needs of insurance, medications, power, water, new batteries for my wheelchair, and the outstanding debt from my wife's emergency gallbladder surgery.

The goal of this campaign is to reach a point where we can invest in our future, and not have to depend on continuing charity.
