Phyllis’ Fight
Recently Phyllis has received a life changing diagnosis of Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Those who know Phyllis know she is a strong, healthy, and active person and this has rocked us all to our core.
She has started chemotherapy in Courtenay but as this is an aggressive cancer she has decided to also add the Integrated Health Clinic in Vancouver to her treatment plan. Here, a Naturopathic cancer specialist will work alongside her oncologist using Hyperthermal Therapy and infusions to get the best possible results from the chemo and further fight the cancer. Unfortunately these treatments are not covered under BC Medical and the weekly treatments and trips to Vancouver will be out of pocket. Studies show that using chemo alongside this treatment can greatly increase the chance of remission and quality of life.
Phyllis is the type of person that is inclusive of all and has been a valuable member of our community. She is the first person to offer a helping hand, always has an open door and and is forever kind and engaged in those around her. As an RN she has spent her life giving to others and helping them in their health and healing journey. Her and Roy have both recently retired and were looking forward to spending these years together exploring and creating new adventures.
We ask for your support to ease this financial burden so we can focus on getting her well.
