i got accepted to calarts! as alot of u already know!!! <:'D I am very much looking forward to recieving a real formal education on my passion for the first time! get ready for a long life story..
I am not exactly sure if i can attend still, although ive been accepted... tuition and expenses are so much!!!!
My family and I are already scraping through as it is, I come from a mexican immigrant family, with a single mother and 4 siblings (3 young children that depend on us) we are already recieving government benefits in the form of food stamps and low income government housing because of a govt. opportuniy for low income familys with people with disabilities(me), so there is really close to nothing me and my family could do to pay for college...
i am a disabled trans person, i am autistic and paranoid and have symptoms of psychosis and have alot of trauma related issues,, i still do not have a clear diagonis from any doctors however i am recieving medical attention and my doctors assure me they are already setting up my medical support team for when i have to move and go to school... i am unable to leave the house on my own. I have gotten into accidents leaving the house alone (almost gettign hit by cars alot... ive only gotten hit once tho) and currently can only leave the house 1/a few times every few months.. as long as i am with very trusted people... my best best friend who i trust has also gotten accepted! and we are trying to arrange for us to stay together for our own sense of safety (we are both disabled and have alot of issues with being near people we dont know, we are trying our best to go and i am praying they get the support they need to attend as well)
I am currently trying to recieve scholarships but seeing as how i am a first generation citizen that dropped out of high school during sophmore year, only with a... i think i only had a 2.9 gpa because i rarely attened school to begin with, and almost no art education background. (during high school my family was forced into homelessness and i was suffering ongoing abuse ive dealt with my whole life ) there is little scholarship opportunity for me.
Being able to have been accepted at all is really a miracle for me!!! and i feel like itll take a miracle for me to be able to afford to go!!! <: ( storytelling is my passion... please help me... you all already know art is my everything... i dont think i need to explain this part... u all already know i would die to be able to create and grow and share stories all my life, you all already know i am working so hard to be able to one day create stories about peoples and experiences that rarely get a spotlight in film or media.... i would be eternally grateful if any of u supported me in my dream, thank u so much :(
