Hi everyone,

I’m raising funds to help cover urgent and ongoing veterinary care for my cat Bonez.

A few days ago he developed a serious injury to his paw that became infected. When we first contacted the vet and sent photos they warned that the nail looked disconnected and might require a procedure or even surgery depending on what they found during the exam. This was incredibly stressful to hear but we knew we had to act quickly.

After taking him in for an in person visit the vet determined that the swelling and inflammation were the main issues and thankfully it does not appear that he will need surgery at this time. However he does require a long term treatment plan and short term round of antibiotics and steroids as well as a follow up bloodwork and another checkup in two weeks to make sure everything is healing properly. We still need to be cautious as complications can happen if the swelling does not go down as expected.

In addition to this urgent paw injury Bonez has also been dealing with several ongoing health concerns including severe food allergies recurring eye infections skin irritation urinary tract issues and a few unresolved concerns that we are still working with the vet to diagnose. Managing all of these conditions has been extremely challenging and expensive especially because his allergies require a specialized prescription diet called Royal Canin Hydrolyzed STOX which is one of the few foods that does not cause him painful flare ups.

Bonez is eight years old and is deeply loved and has been part of our family for four wonderful years. We are doing everything we can to help him heal and keep him comfortable but the medical costs have become overwhelming. His most recent visit bloodwork and new prescribed food were about five hundred dollars and there are still follow up appointments and tests ahead.
