My name is Patrick Fitzsimmons and I am a photographer and educator living in the DC area. I moved to DC three years ago and spent my first few weeks looking for a place to work that was free, had wifi, and great air conditioning. I ended up at the National Gallery of Art. After a few days I started bringing my camera and spent afternoons taking photos in the gallery wings. What started as a casual photo exercise transformed into a three-year project.
I am so excited to be having an exhibition of this project - Marble Perches - September 10-12 at Fathom Gallery Georgetown.
I was lucky enough to have the space donated by Fathom, but I still need to self-fund all printing and framing costs for the ~20-30 works I'll be showing.
Here’s how your donations will be used:
Premium prints - $50/photo
Framing - $225/photo
So every $300 raised helps me show another photo!
Additionally, as a Board Member for the national non-profit Alice's Kids, I plan on using my exhibition to raise money for our organization. As such, I will contribute 15% of all sales from my exhibition to Alice's Kids.
You can preview some of the works from the exhibition here.
