Next Adventure! Conscious Life Expo-LA

Donation protected
I'm being called to the Conscious Life Expo in LA Feb 10 - 14 and am looking for funding to support this next adventure in bringing our gifts to the world.

Sande Hart, who has written the book "The Liminal Odyssey: Alchemizing the Spaces In-Between" and features The Trust Frequency in the book and in all her talks and podcasts, has invited us to share her space at the Expo with our Trust Frequency book.

I will be flying from Denver to LA and staying with Sande there.

We are also being called to LA in the end of March for an important gathering with our Unity Earth community of global peace, inter-faith and Indigenous solution-oriented activists. Andrew and I will drive the TrustMobile to California for that adventure.

The projected expenses for these two adventures is around $2000. I have increased the overall fund goal to $5000 to reflect these added expenses.

Onward to Peace on Earth!

We are happy to send a Trust Frequency book along to any donors. Here's a link to our free ebook The Conscious Loving Universe: A Guidebook. https://TheTrustFrequency.net/portal

Many blessings and much love to all!

Past Adventure.
I'm Connie Baxter Marlow and I am being called by the sacred mountain Katahdin, Henry David Thoreau, Arnie Neptune Penobscot elder and my great grand uncle Percival Baxter to carry forth their vision of humanity living in balance with nature and each other. I am looking support for my upcoming photography exhibition "Inspiration Katahdin! An exhibit of Images and Ideas" which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the publishing of my book of photographs "Greatest Mountain: Katahdin's Wilderness" in 1972.

"In times of great change, when the future is unknown, a new point of view can serve to lift one's thinking above the clouds, where a clear mind and an open heart will see and feel a world it never knew was there." I wrote on the dust jacket of the 1999 edition of the book.

The heart, spirit, vision and inspired writings of Thoreau, Percival Baxter and Arnie Neptune Penobscot elder, are an integral part of the exhibit.

I came to know Ansel Adams when I was in my early 20's studying B&W fine arts photography at UC Berkeley in the '60's. I thought to myself "If Ansel can do a book on Yosemite, I can do one on Baxter State Park!" And so I did. My purpose was to use my photographs as a vehicle to educate people of the vision of my great grand uncle Percival Baxter. Over a period of 30 years he purchased 200,000 acres and 40 mountains to give to the people of Maine to be held "Forever Wild" as a public park. At that time there was pressure to break the Deeds of Trust that created the park.

The book was republished by Down East Books in 1976, and then in 1999 a new edition evolved bringing the Wabanaki reverence for their sacred mountain. In the 25 years between 1972 and 1999 I had made a deep relationship with the Native Americans. In 1999 I connected with Henry David Thoreau's transformative experience on Katahdin, his explorations of the Maine woods with Native guides and his vision of the future.

I am excited to return to my homeland - the great state of Maine. I am honored that I have been invited to exhibit the show at Curtis Memorial Library, from July 2 - August 30, 2022, in Brunswick where I was born.

"Maine's majestic mountain inspired Percival Baxter to wilderness preservation, Henry David Thoreau to exalt the sublime, the Wabanaki Indians to revere its spirit, and Connie Baxter Marlow to weave a tapestry of ideas that synthesizes these elements into a vision of a world in balance." Portland Press Herald 1999.

Andrew and I appreciate any support you feel inspired to offer to help defray the expenses associated with this inspiring and celebratory show. It is a stretch for us financially to answer this call.

We will have several events:
A reception July 8. We have invited a Wabanaki representative to speak on their connection to the sacred mountain. We would like to pay this person's expenses to travel to Brunswick and an honorarium. We would also like to provide yummy food and refreshing drinks for folks who come to the reception.
Total: $400

We will have an inspiring event on August 20, "Thoreau the Futurist and the Emerging Human a.k.a Thoreau and Joe," a theatrical reading from the Journals and writings of Henry David Thoreau regarding his belief in the role of the Native Americans in the future. Richard Smith, pre-eminent Thoreau scholar and living history interpreter will portray Thoreau. Sage Neptune, son of the late James Neptune, who often played Joe Polis, Thoreau's Native guide and hero, will portray Joe. We would like to defray their expenses and pay an honorarium to these folks. Click HERE for more information.
Total: $600

Printing Photos: Most of the show is in storage in Maine, awaiting its next day in the sun. It first hung at LC Bates Museum in 2000, then at The Payson Gallery at the University of New England in 2000, in Concord, MA at the Concord Public Library in 2002, and at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine in 2012. We will be creating a few more large prints for this show, which we will print in Loveland, CO at the local library for a nominal fee.
Total: $200

Brochures: We will be designing and printing take-home brochures available during the two months for people to take home and enjoy. Approximate cost: $300

Travel: My partner Andrew and I must travel from Colorado to Maine at drastically increased fuel costs. We stay in our Sprinter van, as the nomads we are. Here is a breakdown of the travel costs:
Fuel: The van takes diesel fuel which is averaging $6.00/gallon. We get 20 miles to the gallon, so the round trip of 4,000 miles will cost $1200. Tolls: $200.
Total $1400.

We would like to honor folks who help us hang the show on July 1.
$100

Total projected expenses:
Travel $1400
Printing of Photos: $200
Printing of brochures: $300
Events: $1000
Help hanging show: $100
Total Expenses: $3000
