Hey everyone, I know times are hard for everyone right now but I gotta ask for help. While I was out town with a close friend of 12 years, my apartment was broken into. Before going out of town I told this friend we were going to be late so she should lock the door on the way out. Well, she didn't. We had a serious fight on the trip and the next day I woke up to the police told me someone had broken into my apartment, which showed no signs of forced entry.
Whoever broke in trashed my place and the detective working on the case says that the break-in looked like it was targeted. Long story short, my neighbor heard someone throwing things around at 3 am and spotted a man walking in and out of my apartment storing things under a stairwell. He called the cops and while my neighbor was on the phone with 911, the robber caught my neighbor peeping through the window and fled before the cops could get there.
While I am happy my dog was not there and no one was hurt they took my camera several other electronics. That camera was more than just a camera to me. My camera was my therapy, release from the world, and also a form of income. I just got off of active duty in the Navy a year ago and it's been more than tough over the last year. I was just beginning to get on my feet and find some stability.
I come to all humbly and hopeful that I can get the funds together to replace what has been stolen and try to move forward. It’s going to take time to replace it but with help maybe I can get back to normal sooner. If you find it in your heart to help me thank you if not say a prayer for me. Love you guys I’m not giving up I was made to rise above this.
Lessons Learned:
1. Lock your own doors
2. Renters insurance is important
3. Not all people are bad. Thank you for your support.
