Pancreatic Cancer Diagnosis

Donation protected
Matt was having pain in his stomach for a few weeks. One doctor treated it as an ulcer, but the pain persisted. On November 19, 2018 the pain became so severe that he went to the hospital, thinking it was his gallbladder. That evening in the ER, the doctor's gave him a CT scan and unfortunately found a tumor the size of his fist on his pancreas. After the biopsy was completed the doctors came back with the diagnoses; it was Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. The doctor stated that because his cancer is so aggressive and spread to his lymph nodes; they will be treating it at Stage 4. The doctor told Matt, who is only 44 that he is going to need his "boxing gloves" on because we need him to fight as hard as he can.  On Friday December 7th he will be having a port placed, that way he can start his chemo treatments on Monday December 10th. Even with the chemo treatments, the doctors are unsure how long he has. Matt isn’t alone in his fight. He has his two amazing sons, Noah, 18 and Justin, 23. His parents, Richard and Cindy, his girlfriend Robyn and a huge support team where he works.     We are all in shock and overwhelmed by this unexpected diagnosis and praying for much more time with Matt. He is one of the nicest men you will ever meet and always has a smile on his face.  At work, he is known as The Jokester and is always making people laugh and smile.    We started this Go Fund Me because Matt does not have life insurance and we know there will be unexpected medical bills to be paid. We would also like to be able to plan a trip for Matt to visit his favorite place in Florida, where his parents live.
