A Heartfelt Plea to Rescue MY Family from Gaza's War

Dear Friends,

This is Riham Alaloul, a Palestinian woman., I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart, seeking your support for the rescue of my family,

I present this heartfelt plea, a desperate cry for assistance my family from the dire situation unfolding in the Gaza Strip.

MY family is currently trapped in the relentless crossfire of the Gaza conflict. In the past Year, the toll on innocent lives has been staggering – with over 50,000 lost, more than one million children in the besieged Gaza Strip now require mental health support, according to UNICEF says. Additionally, 600,000 children suffering from hunger and fear in Rafah, UNICEF warns. and more than 150,000 people have contracted skin infections in the squalid conditions prevailing in the enclave.

Among these statistics lies the painful reality of My family;
  • My family has witnessed the death of more than 50 people of my cousins in front of their eyes. I have a family of 23 people (13 adults, 10 kids).

The current situation with my family is as follows:
  • My family lives in Gaza City and they were displaced under fire on October 15 with nothing with them.
  • They have been forced to leave the city heading to the nowhere they have no one or nowhere to stay.
  • My family had their homes completely bombed and destroyed.
  • My family had a family two business, they exhaustively lost their income resource.
  • Now, they have no homes and no work. They are on the street under fire and bombardments.
  • My family currently in a tent. That after multiple evacuations after their only flats become rubble in Gaza city
  • My family members are living with lacking all basic life needs and human rights. they unable to go back to their houses as the whole area is a war zone, surrounded by tanks and extremely unsafe.
  • My family is short of winter clothes and anything to help them weather this coming winter.
  • No place is safe in the Gaza Strip. They hardly find access to food. The drinking water does not exist, so they are forced to consume the non-dirking water.
  • All my nieces and nephews are suffering from several diseases related to pollution, and lack of water and food. At the same time, they don’t have any access to the health care system as the system is destroyed.
  • The kids have no schools because the schools are all destroyed.

Their lives are under threat every second in In Gaza. The situation in Gaza is beyond what words can describe. We have narrowly escaped death multiple times under unimaginable conditions. One harrowing incident involved a rocket striking a building next to our home, miraculously sparing my family. Displaced from our homes and witnessing our city reduced to rubble.

My sister with her family was in Beit Lahia city when the army attacked the house where she sought refuge on September 6th. During the assault, four people were killed instantly. My niece bled for three days, and despite my sister, the other niece, and nephew being alive and desperately calling for help, no aid could reach them. Not the Red Cross, Red Crescent, Civil Defence, nor an ambulance could break through. and Israel's operations in North Gaza persist.

Watching my homeland being completely razed to the ground is causing my severe psychological problems. Everyday I wonder if my brothers and mother will be one of the civilians murdered by the illegal occupiers. They are threatened with death at every moment but they cannot leave.

This support is crucial to facilitate is very important to support my family during difficult times. My family consists of five households with a total of 23 people. Each household needs to renew their worn-out tent due to over a year of exposure to the elements and changing weather. Each tent costs $1,000, totaling $5,000 for all.

Each household also needs food, health supplies, and water, costing approximately $1,200 per month, which totals $6,000 for the five households. Additionally, they urgently need a private tutor to teach and assist the children, which costs around $4,000 per month.

Total amount in USD:

Cost of tents: $5,000
Monthly cost for food, health supplies, and water: $6,000
Monthly cost for a private tutor: $4,000

Total monthly amount in USD:
5,000+6,000+4,000=15,000
Current exchange rate:
1 USD = 1.40 CAD
Total amount in CAD: 15,000×1.40=21,000

So, the total amount in Canadian dollars is $21,000 CAD.

Using this target amount provides a foundation to Help with winter needs and renew tents to keep out rain and to initiate theire life anew, given that our losses surpass $100,000.

I have shouldered the responsibility of being the Daughter loyal to my family, a role I am determined to sustain, by the grace of Allah, as I continue to stay alive and provide ongoing them with continuous support.

Thank you again for your support and understanding during this challenging time. Your contribution means a new life for my family. Also, it means compassion and solidarity for justice and preserving human lives.

Sincerely,
Riham Alaloul
