Phineus Needs Life-Saving Surgery
This is Phineus. Phineus is sick and needs life-saving surgery.
Anyone who knows me well knows that my cats are so much more than pets to me. They are my children. In September, Phineus began vomiting A LOT. He's been unable to hold down food. After several vet visits, ultrasounds, x-rays, bloodwork, etc., it's been determined that Phiney needs to have part of his small intestine removed. While the surgeon is doing that, she will also biopsy a few other parts of his intestine.
One of two things is possible. He may have inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The other possibility is intestinal lymphoma. I'm trying not to think too much about this possible outcome, but this would mean several more expenses by way of chemo treatments and other procedures.
Phiney has been my baby since he was three months old. He has the sweetest, gentlest disposition, and the quick deterioration of his health has been hard to watch. Before getting sick, he was 13 pounds. Now, he is only 9.5 pounds and still losing weight.
I have already spent over $2300 on vet visits and tests, and I am out of money. The surgeon says that the longer I wait on his surgery, the more likely he will have to be run through tests all over again. It's not easy for me to ask for help, but I simply can't afford a surgery or anymore tests.
The estimated cost of the surgery and biopsies is $3900, and there will most likely be expenses beyond that. Any help would be very appreciated. If you can't afford to donate, please do Phiney the favor of passing on this campaign to every animal lover and compassionate person you know.
Thank you, all, in advance!
