Meet Phil Soto. He is the kindest, most loving and generous friend, son, and brother you will ever know. Phil loves dancing, Dungeons & Dragons, and his pet dog and cats. He is a 1995 Alumni of Central Catholic High School. Phil earned M.B.A from the University of Toledo in 2013. He has worked for the City of Toledo as a public servant his whole adult life. Last year Phil began living his dream by starting his own small entertainment business. In June 2016, Phil was diagnosed with stage 2 Stomach Cancer. He has undergone surgery and is currently treating his disease with chemo and radiation.

Phil experienced stomach problems for the last 4 years. He believed those problems to be an ulcer. Unfortunately, Phil discovered it was a cancerous tumor. He acted immediately by removing 1/3 of his stomach in July 2016. Phil spent 10 days in the hospital and has been homebound ever since. In September, he began his first round of chemo. October, he started first round of radiation. Phil has experienced complications with treatments including a severe skin infection. Most days he feels nauseous and tired.

Phil has spent his whole adult life as a public servant. He started in the parks department in 1996, as utility worker cutting grass and picking up garbage. From there, Phil became a full time employee as a utility worker who duties included janitorial, landscaping and maintenance. He was promoted to a control room operator after receiving special state certified training. His duties are to clean and safe guard the drinking water of the City of Toledo and surrounding areas.

Phil was beginning to live his dream of starting his own entertainment and promotional business. The beginning of this year was the first time, his business was profitable, but since finding out he has cancer, his business has suffered and is now losing money.

Phil has been off work since June 2016 and will most likely be unable to work till February 2017. Please consider helping our friend, son and Uncle Phil with his medical cost and living expenses.

This campaign has been created with the blessing and input of the Soto family.
