On August 25, Phil was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer of the blood/bones. He started chemo treatments right away and has been doing his best to keep up with his regular daily activities: work, kids activities, sporting events and other things. He will soon have to have a stem cell replacement as part of his treatment. This major part of his treatment will begin on the 16th of November and continue until after Christmas. During the weeks of December 12-December 26, he will be at John Theurer Cancer Center in Hackensack, NJ.
As part of his treatment to ensure the longest remission possible, Phil will undergo an additional stem cell transplant in the spring of 2017. During both transplants, Aimee will be by Phil's side and taking short leaves from her teaching position.
Phil is a super father, wonderful husband, and faithful friend. He has been the rock of his family and has remained strong despite all of the treatment side effects.
This fund will be used to cover medical expenses, travel expenses, transportation costs and time off of work throughout Phil's treatment.
