Tragically, at age 49 years, completely fit and healthy, Pete Philpot died of a heart attack riding his pushbike on October 4 in Wagga Wagga, NSW.
Pete is an incredible and well known drummer/musician having played in Manticore, Kong Fuzi and Strippers From Mars. Anyone who knew Pete knew he was larger than life, a true fighter and absolute champion human being. This is a hole that deals a devastating blow to his family, his partner, the community of Wagga Wagga and all of his friends around the globe.
Pete tragically lost his wife Joanne in 2003, raising 6 beautiful children alone: Simmone, Zac, Kyle, Reece, Hayley and Kellsie. Pete is also tragically leaving his beautiful partner of 3 years, Leanne. A hole that will never be filled.
Lightning shoudn't strike in the same family twice, but when it does, it is the strength of the community around that family that can make all the difference.
Due to the tragic circumstances, and low funds available we would like to offer the opportunity for friends and those in the wider music community to help however they may be able to.
Funds raised will help cover funeral expenses, rent and bills left and other fees involved in a sudden and tragic unexpected death. This will allow the children (Simmone and Reece) to live and come to terms with their grief in their rented family home, assist them with expenses due to time off work and buy some time before having to move on.
