Troop 404 Philmont 2018 crew fund

We crew leaders have the awesome opportunity to take 8 incredible scouts on a two week backpacking trip to the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. We will be hiking between 70-100 miles in the Rocky Mountains.  Base camp starts at 6.5k ft elevation and we will hike to the peak at 12,551 ft. The only gear we have is what we can carry. Every scout that we have talked to that has made this trip have all said they would certainly do it again. This is a life changing opportunity for these boys and crew leaders too. With that, it is also a very expensive trip from Columbus GA. We are making the trip in June 2018. We have a lot of fund raisers going on as well as having to start training to physically be ready for this experience.  Our goal is to do Philmont in 2018, Sea Base in 2019, and the Northern Tier in 2020. 

As our scouts would say, "any contribution you can make will get us one step closer to our goal of not having to depend on our parental units for financial support to achieve our dream of Philmont".

These scouts are very active in their troop, each holding a leadership position and are very involved in planning their Philmont trip.
