Around two decades ago, we were seated adjacent to each other at a missionary convention. Although we were familiar with each other's names, we had not formally met. As the evening progressed, we conversed about our shared desire, mission, and fervor in life, namely caring for parentless youngsters or orphans.

Over time, with God's help, we expanded our family via global adoption. We have two biological kids, namely Hannah and James, as well as two adopted children, namely Natalia from Latvia and John from China.

We believed that our family was complete. But then, we encountered K from Colombia through a hosting program. She resided with us for three weeks, and we developed a deep attachment to her. She formed a strong bond with James. We immediately pursued the possibility of adoption.

Furthermore, another opportunity presented itself. Under unique circumstances, we had the opportunity to host a group of siblings. We once again developed a strong connection with them and decided to pursue their adoption.

Currently, we are in the process of adopting three children from Colombia. This will bring about a significant change for our family, but as I previously mentioned, this is our passion, purpose, and mission.

After this adoption is complete, the Phillips family will be made up of children from four continents.
