For the man who is impossible to buy for... (PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS A SURPRISE)

 

As we all get excited about Phillip's big celebration, many of our generous friends are asking what to give him as a present. We are so appreciative of your offer to buy gifts, but please do not bring a present!

 

Instead, we would like to create something to honour Phillip - as much as we know Phillip loves Hanworth, we secretly know his heart lies elsewhere - with the koalas. He loves koalas and donates to the brilliant WIRES charity every year to support their work in saving koalas and other wildlife. To support his love of our furry friends, we are asking his loved ones to celebrate this special birthday by donating to WIRES as his birthday present. Everyone who makes a donation will have their names added to the back of a bench which we are commissioning at Hanworth. We think this is a special way to honour his love and commitment to both Hanworth and the koalas - and do something impactful in his name. We might even get a little koala friend on the bench!
 
All the donations will go directly to WIRES.

But the seat will live on in the Eskgrove Garden at Hanworth House under the 150-year-old frangipani tree for all to enjoy as they enter the Hanworth grounds.  We will be using  a piece of Hanworth, the wood of a 120-year-old tree from the property that died, for the commissioned bench.  Phillip has been such  an integral part of bringing Hanworth back to life, and we want to add a special place at the house to recognise this. And his friends who mean so much to him.

If you would like to  donate, please enter your name on the online donation as you would like it written on the bench. All the names of the friends will be inscribed on the seat to celebrate Phillip's 60th birthday.
