It took more than eight months to get diagnosed with cancer, and after one surgery and several referrals I was finally sent to Doctor Wang at UCSF.

I will be having two more surgeries and radiation (and possibly chemotherapy), but I'll have to travel again on February 18th for a few more tests first. Porterville, California (where I live) is approximately 250 miles from San Francisco one way.  I have at least two more trips and I may have to stay for a while sometime after surgery for my radiation treatments.

I just got back from UCSF on February 6th for my first consult. I had to borrow a truck, and my son and best friend took turns driving me there and back. We left Porterville about 7:30 the night before, and I rented a room for us at Motel 6 (over $140.00) so we could sleep for a few hours before my morning appointment and return trip to Porterville.

Between the room, gas, and food for me and my caregivers, I spent just over $360.00.

I know this is last minute, but I'm proud and stubborn and I despise asking for help.

However, now I am desperate too.
