Phillip Posada Memorial Camp Fund

Our beloved brother, Phillip Posada, was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cancer in July of 2017.  The demon was already spreading throughout his body and into his bones.  He didn't have a chance.  Yet you wouldn't know it by the way he carried himself with dignity, good cheer,  and undying hope.  He was determined to be around for his two boys, Joseph and Joshua.

Unfortunately, his battle ended on February 18, 2018. He was only 48 years young.

Those of you who knew Phillip, new his love of "camp" started when he was in high school in the 1980's. Young Life camps had a huge impact on his life.  Later as a teacher, he spent the better part of the last 20 years taking hundreds of 5th and 6th graders to Outdoor Education camps in Southern California. These camps introduce the wonders of nature to children and give many of them their first taste of the "wilderness". The kids make life-long memories and have a blast. (Truth be told, Phillip probably had  more fun than the kids did.)

Over the years, countless individuals have been impacted by his amazing example of kindness, dedication, and courage.  He started the day singing and his songs still reverberate in the hearts and memories of his students and coworkers.

In his honor, we are establishing the Phillip Posada Memorial Camp Fund.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate money to this scholarship fund so that future students in need can have the opportunity to attend camp.  If you ever went to camp with Phillip or just enjoyed going to a camp, please take a moment and donate so others can have that wonderful experience.

Thank you and God bless.
