A Signal 5 Super Typhoon recently devastated a large portion of the Republic of the Philippines,, especially a community known as Sayak. Before explaining this GoFundMe Project let me tell you a little about the organizer and one of my GoFundMe team members. My name is Roy Fisher. I am an Ordained Minister and in 2003 I became the Senior Minister of Contemporary Spiritual Arts,(CSA) Inc. Our vision is to see our world transformed into a global community living in peace, harmony and mutual respect and my ministry's primary mission is to serve and support needy children in the Republic of the Philippines. Assisting me in this fund raising project is a woman named Rosela R. Walsh. More commonly known as Rose, she is a Filipino with dual U.S. and Philippine passports, married for 39 years to a retired Air Force veteran. Since 2013 she has been the elected political leader (Titled Barangay Captain of the Sayak community) and she is responsible for the care and well being of its citizens and the community. Sayak has always been her home. Now let me explain why we are requesting your support.
On December 16, 2021, Typhoon Rai, also known as Typhoon Odette in the Philippines, intensified to a Category 5 Super Typhoon, and made landfall over Siargao Island with winds reaching 260 km per hour, leaving a trail of death and destruction with hundreds of people still missing. The Red Cross describes it as CARNAGE in many areas.

On the island more than 530,000 houses were seriously damaged while over a third were totally wrecked. Damage to infrastructure and agriculture is estimated to exceed $500 million dollars Over 336,000 people are now homeless on the island of Siargao and are without basic necessities. Well water is no longer drinkable. Electricity is expected to be out for six months and cell phone communication is expected to be down for as much as two months.
The village of Sayak was probably the most devastated of all the communities on Siargao Islalnd and your donations will primarily be used for rebuilding in this village. The population of Sayak exceeds 1400 people with 360 families and 250 homes of which over 90% are severely damaged or totally destroyed. After repairing homes in Sayak any remaining funds will be used to help repair other damaged homes on Siargao Island.
Filipinos are some of the most resilient people in the world, but they drastically need financial help from people all around the world at this time. As you consider donating, imagine yourself and your loved ones suffering from dehydration and dysentery, without running water, food, electricity, communication capabilities and shelter from the rain and intense sun. You would be extremely grateful for help from friends and strangers.
100% OF ALL DONATIONS RECEIVED FROM GOFUNDME WILL BE USED TO BUY MATERIALS FOR DISTRESSED CITIZENS. These materials will include such things as roofing, tin, nails, lumber, glass, windows, rice, condiments, and water. No cash disbursements will be made to victims, to avoid the misuse of contributions. All Relief Program Administrative Costs will be absorbed by Contemporary Spiritual Arts, Inc. Ministry. Ma'am Rosela R. Walsh has been the elected community leader of Sayak since 2013. She and her administrative team will facilitate the evaluation of needs, purchase and delivery of materials to each recipient in the village. We are a 501c3 Not-For-Profit Missouri Corporation and your donations are tax deductible.
