Filipino School Supply & Family Food Distribution

My wife who is Filipino & I are blessed to be able to do lots of special things for kids & families back in her hometown in the Philippines on the northern coast of Mindanao. Having traveled there often, I am always amazed at how happy the people are even though they don't have many if any of the conveniences we enjoy here. That is one reason why it is so rewarding to do things for them. The other is the smiles on their faces and the good feeling that comes when you can help another human being.
For our next little mission we are planning to do 2 different events. One of them will be to give school supplies to 50 kids from families most in need located in her barangay. My wife is taking the lead on this project.
The other event for which I am taking the lead is an Easter Egg Hunt for 75 kids also from my wife's barangay.
Lots of the school supplies can be purchased at the Dollar Tree located near our home but we do want to provide kids with a backpack which we still haven't gotten a decent price on yet and a small plastic lunch box.
For the Easter Egg Hunt there are 2 big items besides candy. One is a pair of Flip Flops for each kid. The other will be that each kid will get to make a tie dye t-shirt. (we did this once with her family on one of our trips and everyone both adults & kids loved it.) I might even try to get 25 adult sized t-shirts so that the adults that we will have helping us can also make one for themselves.
Besides all these costs we will have pay for shipping (I am estimating at least 4 & maybe as many as 6 boxes assuming we get the backpacks.) To make sure that these items arrive in time for us to complete this project, we will need to ship items by the beginning of January. If we hit the goal we have set here we will be able to go above & beyond what we are hoping to do.
Even if you can't donate, you could help us out by sharing this with any friends or family who you think might be willing and able to help.
