Philippa's Path: Paving the way to thrive through MND.

I'm here to share with you the remarkable journey of my partner, Philippa. She's not just navigating life; she's embracing it with incredible courage and an unwavering spirit, despite the challenges of Motor Neuron Disease (MND). And today, I'm reaching out to you because I believe that together, we can make a difference in her life.
Philippa's journey with MND started a few years ago, and it's been… a journey. From the initial relief of getting a diagnosis to the harsh reality sinking in later, it's been a tough road. But through it all, Philippa has shown remarkable strength and resilience, facing each day with a determination that inspires me beyond words.
As her loving partner and caregiver, I've witnessed first-hand the struggles she faces – from the simplest tasks becoming monumental challenges, to the financial strains that come with living with MND. Medical bills, home modifications, and caregiving costs add up quickly, and it's not easy.
But amidst the challenges, there's one thing that keeps us going – hope. Hope for a future where Philippa can continue to live life to the fullest, despite the limitations imposed by MND. And that's where you come in.
The location of the majority of our care and support system (combined with the direct impact on our relationship of Brexit) led to the decision to move to my home country, Greece. Despite the many approaches to improve accessibility, Greece is lacking in an infrastructure that adequately supports disability.
We're on a mission to raise funds to make Philippa's dream of an accessible life, for as long as possible, a reality.
Our goal is to acquire an accessible vehicle! She'll not only be able to make it to her medical appointments and care facilities safely, but also embark on adventures and create memories that will last her lifetime. We will be able to take a portable ramp for the certainty that there will steps at our destination, transport the necessary mobility aids Philippa requires. (Not to mention her crafting materials and accommodate for her being a heavy packer of make-up and wardrobe: “What?! You never know when you might need a cool toned or a warm toned red!”
It is a huge ask; we know this so I need to tell you about Philippa's spirit. Despite her diagnosis, she continues to take on challenges to raise money and awareness for MND. From completing an independent 10km marathon in her wheelchair for the MND Association, to taking on crafting challenges where she makes mouth brooches and customized mobility aids, she's been a true champion. These initiatives aim to improve visibility of the impact of Motor Neuron Disease and highlight the individual strengths of people (carers and survivors) with this terrible diagnosis. She continues to advocate for mental health, education and human rights with formidable determination including raising money for Refuge charity, championing awareness of Domestic Violence! She shares her stories with passion and she supports the disability community by sharing the stories of others with equal strength.
We can't do this alone. We need your support. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a world of difference in Philippa's life. It's not just about the financial contribution; it's about showing her that she's not alone in this fight.
Please, join us on this incredible journey. Follow Philippa's adventures on Instagram at HotCripKitty and be a part of something truly special – a journey filled with humour, creativity, and, hopefully, endless possibilities.
Thank you for considering supporting Philippa on this journey. Together, we can make a difference and show the world what's possible, even within the confines of MND.
With heartfelt gratitude,
