Our dear friend Philip Hooser needs your help.
Philip developed a severe, life-threatening infection in his right foot which required amputation above the ankle in order to save his leg. The surgery was performed on Wednesday, August 21st at KU Medical Center where he is now recovering.
His doctors tell us that he will remain in the hospital for the next few days before beginning inpatient rehabilitation. Over the days and weeks to come, we will be updating this page with more information about his condition. (And, knowing Philip, he will be back on social media as soon as his medical team ok's it!)
While there are many hurdles ahead, one thing we know for certain is that while Philip's spirit is strong, he will be needing financial support to help pay his medical bills and living expenses during his rehabilitation and recovery.
And, the money that you contribute will also help offset the costs of his prosthetic when the time comes.
