Phil - Jordan Phillip Goheen

We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the passing of our good friend, mentor, and mountain bike community ambassador, Phil Goheen.

Phil was more than just a friend—he was the ultimate hype man. Always cheering people on, helping them reach their goals, and offering guidance whenever it was needed. Above all else, Phil was one of the most giving and supportive people you could ever meet. He would truly give the shirt off his back if it meant helping someone through a tough time or making their dream a reality.

Recently, Phil had discovered a heart condition and shifted from mountain biking to road cycling to carefully manage his health. Through it all, his number one priority was crystal clear: to be there for his girls, his family, and his friends for years to come. He quickly found joy in his new road bike, enjoying the simple freedom of turning pedals and soaking in life on two wheels.

Tragically, on September 13th, while out for a ride, Phil was struck by a vehicle and passed away.

The biking community has lost a true champion of the sport. Phil was a tireless supporter of The Flannel Crew, Moose Mountain Bike Trail Society (MMBTS), and countless advocacy efforts in the region. He showed up for events, encouraged newcomers, and embodied the spirit of community—always about getting people outside and sharing the joy of riding.

Now, we are coming together to support his family—Candace and Hannah—through this unimaginable loss. The funds raised will help cover expenses and provide some stability as they navigate the difficult months ahead.

Any contribution you can make will make a difference for Phil’s family during this difficult time.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, generosity, and support.

Please stay tuned for updates, we are looking to organize a memorial ride as a tribute to Phil in the near future. He would have wanted nothing more than to see everyone happy out riding bikes.

We love you, Phil! And we are keeping you and those close to you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Much love,

The Flannel Crew
