“Shit fire”

Flip left us on Friday unexpectedly while hiking near Reno NV I’m sure you all agree he will be missed.   He leaves behind a family that needs a little help from all of us in this tough time. 

With out a doubt he has shared a memorable laugh or campfire song with many of us.   Flip was involved in many aspects of the outdoor world from teaching backpacking clinics to interviewing fish and wildlife biologists for his news articles. No matter what he was up to he left a trail of smiles all around  

I think it’s appropriate to let the family share any further details.   As plans are made I will share them with all of his friends at the family’s discretion.
