Phil Earley... Funeral Services and Charity Fund
Phil left us much too soon...
His light in life was one that shined bright and lit his way through peaks and valleys. His light touch us all when I think about it. I remember meeting him when he was "a kid" and thinking, "how does this young man have so much maturity for his age?" Even in his 30's his seemed to have the life experience and fortitude of someone who was much older. He also was one of those friends who just seemed to "get you" once you got to know him. He was intuitive in seeing a person's heart and it showed in his friendships.
Phil embraced the fact he had his chosen family and his given family. The gift of both suited him well and he took those relationships with serious loving care. When he lost his beloved Mom a few years ago I saw a tough and tender side of Phil that was beautiful... even in it's devastating loss.
When he spoke lovingly of his sister Kim and her remarkable daughters Meg and Brianna...he beamed with pride. His love for them shined like his light, bright and solid. Kim's husband Carl was a confidante for him always. He loved his chosen and blood families intensely. Proudly.
He had two loves in his life, Phil his partner for many many years living in Denver's Capital Hill neighborhood with a variety of sweet bulldogs. .. Oh he loved dogs! The two of them struck me as ying and yang, and it just seemed to work for them. I remember so many restaurant quality dinners, Broncos' games and talking about the meaning of life with them both. When the relationship ended their friendship continued.. chosen families do.
His next love, and last, was Steve whom Phil adored. Together they seemed like a power couple in build and stature. Steve felt lifted up
by Phil, and Phil felt lifted up by Steve. A romantic blend of power and understanding. Phil loved Steve so much, it was beautiful to watch these two men share so much love in their relationship together .
Dope Minds... with his dear friend Laura..he created a clothing line and start his own movement of hope for others struggling with mental health issues and addiction. It's a movement that shall live in in his memory.
There is so much to remember about Phil. His personality, love of his dogs, striving to be a better man, trying to help others first, humor, intelligence, insecurities and modesty, amazing looks, determination. His uncanny ability to take to something on and nail it like skateboarding, guitar and endless video games. He won't be here in the physical sense...but his spirit will absolutely live on with us all.
Finally.. I would ask for your aid in helping his husband Steve. The stress of this event is unimaginable and part of that can be the financial burden of funeral costs, services and additional bills that occur when suddenly losing a loved one. Please contribute to his "gofundme" in memory of Phil
