Fundraiser for Promoting Health In Haiti (PHH)

We understand that it has been a difficult year and a half for everyone. For us, all of our usual fundraising activities had to be discontinued. For our partners working with us in Haiti it has been even more distressing. Jobs are few and living conditions are deteriorating in many areas of the country.

Even with all this chaos, Promoting Health in Haiti has been able to continue our program of educating qualified nurse practitioners. We will soon be graduating our third cohort of nurse practitioners. This cohort includes twenty-seven (27) family nurse practitioners and seven (7) psychiatric nurse practitioners. This will make a total of 68 highly qualified primary care providers for Haiti. They are the first nurse practitioners that have been educated in all of the Caribbean and South America. We are very proud of their achievement and their ability to provide care to the Haitian population. Being a nurse practitioner gives them a position of respect and a sense of pride. We are given them a profession, a career, and an opportunity to build their community.

We believe we are building a faculty at the university of Haiti, thereby reducing the risk of individual leaving Haiti, the brain drains.
In that regard this is a sustainable project because the nurse practitioner program will remain and will continue to train more nurse practitioners thereby increasing the capacity in the health sector.

Unfortunately, we have yet to pay many of our Haitian teachers for their time and investment in our program. While most of our American teachers taught on zoom this past year, we still have to maintain the school and meet our obligations in Haiti.
A fourth cohort is waiting to begin the program, but we need to put all our plans on hold because of our lack of funds. We need your support to continue our work in Haiti. Would you consider donating to us at this time?

Your donation will enable us to continue the program and meet our goals including starting a fourth class of nurse practitioner students to provide quality primary care to the people of Haiti.

Our mission is to support the Haitian schools of nursing and improve the health and wellness for the citizens of Haiti by educating advanced practice nurses.

Our vision is to create nurse practitioners who can provide much needed primary care in the Haitian communities.
