Hello, my name is Moana Swafford Sanchez,

Our modern-day romance story started with us meeting on Facebook. We became instant friends and maintained a long-distance friendship for two years. Alex fell in love with me and sent me a Greyhound bus ticket to be together on October 31st, 2012. That night, we stayed up talking and getting to know each other since we had never met. From that day on, we were always together with our precious dogs.

Then, on November 2nd, Alex proposed to me, and we were married by an ordained minister who was his friend. We had our ups and downs, but nothing would keep us mad at each other for long. We were in love.

Alex was a loving person who loved everyone and tried his best to do what he could for them, no matter what he was going through personally. I miss him so much. For the past few years, we were homeless, but we made life work. Most importantly, we took care of each other. As Alex's health declined, I became his primary caregiver, putting my well-being aside and making plans for my future without Alex.

Then, on June 7th, Alex passed away peacefully.
