THANK YOU.
From all of the committee fighting overdevelopment in Oxshott:
Your generosity has powered our fight to defend the welfare and future of our community — and to challenge the illogical and poorly thought through plan to build 250 houses/flats at Clouds Hill Farm on Green Belt land.
Together, we’ve raised £21,975 from 129 donors -
Every pound has gone straight into building a formidable case:
· £3,000 ET Planning, Letter of representation to Elmbridge Council
· £7,260 Planning consultant. Green v Grey Assessment,
· £252 Banner Printing
· £276.46 Leaflet Printing
· £204 Additional leaflet printing
· £702 Share of Transport Survey with Fedora
· £540 Transport Planning advise
· £4,800 Kings Council legal opinion
· £300 Drone Survey
· £2,370.86 ET Planning, Objection letter and other works
· £1,884 Heritage Report
· £113.06 ET Planning Green v Grey top up fee
WHERE WE ARE NOW
· Our official objection letter has been submitted.
· 841 individual objections lodged with the council.
· Council response expected in March.
WHY WE STILL NEED YOU
We must continue to raise funds to fight this inappropriate and opportunistic development - an attempt that the vast majority of our local community does not want. As a reminder, 841 individual households and both major community groups representing thousands of residents - FEDORA and the Cobham Conservation & Heritage Trust - strongly oppose this project.
Unfortunately, this level of opposition counts for very little, as the application will ultimately be decided on technical and policy-based grounds. So much for local democracy!
Looking forward, we anticipate that funds will be needed whatever happens.
If Elmbridge back us and oppose the Application, we will need to fight the inevitable appeal.
If Elmbridge approve the Application, we will consider launching a legal challenge. In any event, we wish to ensure the development is designed and implemented in the best possible manner to minimise its impact on the landscape, flora and fauna, road congestion, and the wider community both during its 4-year construction period and beyond.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
If just 150 people donate £100 each, we’ll be able to continue our fight effectively.
· Every donation strengthens our defence.
· Every voice makes residents harder to ignore.
· Every step brings us closer to protecting our community.
PLEASE DONATE TODAY
Failure to stop this proposal sends the message that Oxshott is wide open for future development and this will change our village for ever.
