The old life is reached for, again and again, like a phantom limb.” -Virginia Heffernan, Wired, “The Literature of Plagues Gives Us Words to Live By”  We made a movie! Now what?Thank you for visiting our page and supporting us in this creative endeavor! We made our movie with $300 and a whole lot of elbow grease- now comes the pricey part... Submitting to festivals. It is our hope to submit this short film to different festivals around the country and experience our filmmaker debut in the 2021 Festival Circuit.Of course, submissions come with a price tag. Most Indie Festivals are not-for-profit organizations that make the money they need by charging a submission fee (anywhere from $30-$130 per project). As you can imagine, these fees will begin to pile up rather quickly! Next, theres the cost of actually being accepted- travel expenses for the filmmakers, a marketing campaign, post-production editing costs, the list goes on...Your donations and support are what will help us keep this creative ship afloat! We thank you for your time, money, and faith in our dream!Making a Movie in a Pandemic:We shot almost all of our footage in one week while quarantining in April. We wore masks and stayed socially distant during the entirety of production, and found a way to use distancing guidelines to our artistic advantage. Everything filmed indoors was shot through a window or doorway, while everything outside was filmed from a minimum of 6 feet away (usually much more). This voyeuristic perspective sets the tone for the piece, while keeping an element of reality in the surreal world we created. Thanks to the help of our friends, family, and community, we were able to make this project happen.. The movie was shot guerrilla style; with a budget just under $300, we had no equipment aside from a DSLR camera and a broken tripod. Only natural lighting was used. The majority of filming occurred at a remote location with no available electricity or plumbing. About the Film:When we grieve, we grieve alone. What does this dark forest of emotional isolation do to someone who unknowingly had it all - comfort, companionship, stability - and lost it? Many of us have had to face isolation, loss and grief in one form or another during this pandemic, which is what we chose to explore in the writing of this film. The setting of the piece is post-war America, often referred to as the “golden era” of our country, a creative choice we made to magnify the loss of  “the American Dream” we face today. Henry James, Hannah Hartman, & Joseph Adivari

About the Film:

When we grieve, we grieve alone.
