The Hawthorne family and the Abbeville community have lost a father, uncle, cousin and friend.

 

Uncle James was born and raised in Abbeville, La. Uncle James was loved and admired by many people. He was not just a father to his children but also a father to his nieces and nephews. He is the father of two beautiful children, Travis Obrien and Tanesha Obrien Bessard, whom he loved dearly.

He had the kindest, most significant, sweetest heart. He would literally "give you the shirt off his back.

 

Uncle James moved to Killeen, Tx, in 2010 with his niece Moniek. He worked at Popeye's in Killeen, Tx, until he was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver and Liver Cancer in January of 2019. The last two years of his journey had not been easy, but he fought a good fight till God called him home on Friday, April 22, 2022.

 

His children desire to bring him back home to Abbeville, La, for his final resting place. This fund is being set up to help get him back to Abbeville, funeral expenses and a memorial.

 

We would appreciate any help so that he can be buried quickly. It is hard to understand, but God knows best why this happened. Please keep our family in your prayers.
