To start, I have been healthy, what I thought, was all my life. As of November 2014, I have been diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy (Berger's Disease) & Focal Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), which led to End Stage Renal Failure. My life as long as I have known it, has been filled with sports, traveling, fashion, and fun! I've always been about a natural, holistic, zen- filled life. So you can imagine that when I found out what this diagnosis was that I was floored, absolutely lost for words. So here we go on to the second stage of my life. I'm starting all over- I'm starting to learn in a way that the doctors now say I should be living. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays I spend my life at 5 a.m. in a Dialysis Clinic; all this while I patiently wait my turn on the kidney transplant list. I pray, daily, that this is not my fate- to parish waiting on an organ. Yes, I do have my down moments but I will not let this beat me up and bring me down any longer. I have a wonderful family and I have an awesome selection of friends that love me dearly and are praying for me day by day. Unfortunately in life, I have never had health insurance because, of course, always being healthy and never needing insurance I never thought to get any. Now I'm struggling to try and find the best insurance for my health situation to pay for my transplant. I ask that you, anyone, that's reading this, will donate. It doesn't matter whether it's $1, $10, $100, or $1,000 . I just ask that you donate something. I also have a kidney fund set up with Wells Fargo. You can go into your local branch and ask to donate to the Catibra Burns Kidney Fund- there is something called a Confidential Store Portal & then Memorial/ Donations that they have to pull up. I have recently gotten married and I hope to spend the rest of my life with the love of my life.
