Urgent- Lela Beauchene needs help with legal fees

Hi, my name is Lela Beauchene. I am a self-employed, single mama to three of the most amazing kiddos. My son has grown into an incredible young adult that I couldn't be more proud of, and my girls, while they are still young, are just as amazing. Many of you will know me personally, some will not.

Six years ago, I made the decision to leave my marriage of 20 years ~ I'm sure you are thinking I must have had many reasons to leave after all of that time. Some of you know a bit of what I've been going through. Unfortunately, due to the pending court proceedings, I can't provide specific details of the situation or the case. I can tell you it's been extremely challenging and exhausting to hold the weight of all the stress that comes with family law cases.

The reason I set up this go-fund me page is simply because I am out of options. I've realized while asking for help like this is extremely humbling and one of the most vulnerable things I have done ~ it's also extremely necessary ~ again, I have no other options.

I own a local cleaning business and am grateful and blessed, thus far, to have been able to support myself and my children entirely on my own for the last 6 years. Recently, my business has slowed down significantly, and I've been scrambling to pick up any additional work I can find. I have been offering discounted rates on cleaning services, purging and selling things in our home like clothes and furniture, but it's just not bringing in what I need to cover everything.

Unfortunately, as many of you know, divorce can be a long, exhausting, and draining process. At this point, I have completely extended my credit and all available finances. To date, this has consumed approximately $50,000 of my sole income. Money that could have given the kids so many other incredible opportunities. Also, a significant expense that does not qualify as a write-off for tax purposes.

What I desperately need help with is the past due lawyer bill of $5k to bring me to a current balance and an estimated $15k once all is said and done. I will figure out what to do with my other debt. This ask is for help with current and future legal fees.

For those who know me or see me around town, I always have a smile on my face and a hug to give. What isn't as obvious is the weight of the world I feel on my shoulders. However, I must keep moving towards closure and a peaceful future for my children and myself.

I have been struggling to stay afloat while trying to cover my legal and personal expenses. I am faced with the terrifying reality that if i can't find a way to make this work, all of the time, energy and finances I've put towards this over the last several years will be for nothing.

My goal is to come up with what is still and will be owed to my lawyer. Hopefully by sharing, and donating if you are able, it may take some of the financial and emotional stress off of my plate so that I can focus on what's most important ~ my family.
