Hi, We’re Tom, Niamh and Lily we’re fundraising to volunteer with Camps International in Borneo in the summer of 2027.

In order to get there we have to raise all the money ourselves. Being 14 we can’t get jobs so we’ve decided to take ourselves completely out of our comfort zone by dressing as Orangutans to raise awareness for one of the main causes of the expedition which is deforestation and the devastating impact it has on the inhabitants, specifically orangutans.

We have set ourselves the goal of climbing the Three Peaks in May 2026. Over three days we will take on the three tallest mountains in Great Britain. We will start with Ben Nevis then Scafell Pike and finally Snowdon all while dressed as Orangutans.

We are doing lots of practice walks while dressed as Orangutans to ensure we are fit enough to complete the challenge and to raise awareness of the devastating impact deforestation is having. So far we have had a really positive response while out and about.

During our four week expedition, we will be working to protect orangutan habitats, re-foresting, living and working in different rural communities to build classrooms, refurbishing community buildings, installing water storage systems and immersing ourselves in local culture. The impact we will have will be enormous and will greatly help to enhance the lives of the local communities and the impact on the environment.

This is the ideal time for us to work hard and give something back to the world that so far has looked after us really well. We are all dependant on the rainforest and we want to ensure that we have a world that our children can grow up in.
