Glenn has spent so many years taking care of others in need, driving the elderly to appointments, providing cleaning services in long term care, working as a nurses’ aide before/during/after COVID. UPDATE: Glenn’s whole body radiation, chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant have been completed - it’s been a busy TWO weeks! He is expected to be at UPenn for 16 more days, if everything goes as planned. Meanwhile Jackie is working hard back home and traveling to and from Philadelphia on her days off. Our dear family friend Glenn and his loved ones have been facing unimaginable challenges for several months now, dealing with the harsh reality of health issues brought on by blood cancer. Leukemia, which affects the blood and bone marrow, leads to the rapid production of abnormal white blood cells that fail to combat infection, leaving Glenn vulnerable and fatigued.

As we all know, dealing with health crises is daunting enough without the added stress of financial burdens, especially as insurance coverage falls short. This past week has been particularly grueling for Glenn, involving total body radiation and chemotherapy at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He just underwent a bone marrow transplant on January 16, 2025. The toll of these intensive treatments means that specialists have advised Glenn to stay away from work for at least a year, granted that the treatments are successful.

While he has applied for disability compensation, there’s no guarantee he will receive support in time to help with the family's expenses, leaving them to face an uncertain future without his income. It's heart-wrenching to see Glenn and his family endure such physical and emotional challenges.
