My name is Pablo, and I am setting out to fulfill a lifelong dream: to race solo around the world in the Global Solo Challenge 2027. Sailing has been my passion for as long as I can remember, and this race represents the ultimate test of skill, endurance, and determination. I will be taking on this challenge aboard Gryphon, my trusted Class 40 sailboat, and I am proud to represent Uruguay as I strive to become the first Uruguayan—and possibly the first South American—to complete this incredible journey. In 2024 I was diagnosed with a severe heart condition and required open heart surgery to fix it. This was the turning point and the moment of realization that dreams are to be fulfilled.

Preparing for a solo circumnavigation is a massive undertaking. While I already own Gryphon, there are significant costs involved in making sure the boat is ready for the demands of the open ocean. I am raising funds to cover essential equipment upgrades, safety gear, new sails, and critical improvements that will ensure both my safety and the boat’s performance throughout the race. Every contribution will help me get one step closer to the starting line and give me the best chance of success.

Completing this race would not only fulfill my personal dream, but also inspire others in Uruguay and across South America to pursue their own ambitions, no matter how big they may seem. Mi nombre es Pablo y estoy a punto de cumplir un sueño de toda la vida: dar la vuelta al mundo en solitario en la Global Solo Challenge 2027. La navegación ha sido mi pasión desde siempre, y esta regata representa la máxima prueba de habilidad, resistencia y determinación. Enfrentaré este desafío a bordo de Gryphon, mi confiable velero Class 40, y me enorgullece representar a Uruguay mientras busco convertirme en el primer uruguayo—y posiblemente el primer sudamericano—en completar esta increíble travesía. Preparar una circunnavegación en solitario es una tarea enorme. Aunque ya soy dueño de Gryphon, hay costos significativos para asegurar que el barco esté listo para las exigencias del océano abierto. Estoy recaudando fondos para cubrir mejoras esenciales de equipamiento, equipo de seguridad, velas nuevas y mejoras críticas que garantizarán tanto mi seguridad como el rendimiento del barco durante la regata. Cada aporte me acerca un paso más a la línea de partida y me da la mejor oportunidad de éxito.

Completar esta regata no solo cumpliría mi sueño personal, sino que también inspiraría a otros en Uruguay y en toda Sudamérica a perseguir sus propias metas, sin importar que grandes parezcan.
