Help Holly Heal

When I first met Holly over 7 years ago, I knew that she was someone special. And I was right.

We met at work, which was a small amusement park in Myrtle Beach, SC. At first, we were co-workers who connected over a mutual respect of us both working two jobs. For years, we spent our nights and weekends working side by side. During those long hours we laughed, we cried, we bi*****, and we snacked. Oh, did we snack. But most of all, we bonded.

I discovered that Holly was a program coordinator by day, a wife, and a mom of two. Most nights we left work well past 1 am. It amazed me that she could get her children to school, work her 1st job, cook dinner, work her 2nd job and repeat. Put simply, she was extraordinary, and my work bestie turned into a lifetime bestie.

Fast forward to December 2022, right around Holly’s 39th birthday. She was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. She has three total tumors, with one located in a lymph node. Her current treatment consists of 6 rounds of chemotherapy, followed by surgery and radiation. Her treatment will span months and continue into the summer of 2023. As most of you know, medical expenses can be staggering. Holly is the main provider for her family of four and as it stands, she will have to work full-time through treatment just to pay routine bills. This alone has me in tears. For someone who has given, and continues to give her all to her family, extended family, and friends, I feel like it’s her turn to be taken care of and know it’s okay to feel tired, to feel scared and uncertain, and that those she has so selflessly been there for can now help her when she needs it most.

She may be small in stature, but her heart is enormous and to know her is the greatest blessing. If you are able, I’m asking if you could help me help Holly. Even though she is strong, and I have faith that she will get through this, join me in showing her she doesn’t have to do it alone.
