Help our Scout dog get the care she needs
Donation protected
Hello everyone, our beloved 1.5 year old dog Scout came down with a high fever and began having difficulty breathing and stopped eating on 08/22/22 while still recovering from her spay surgery a week prior. We took her to our local vet the following morning (08/23/22) as her symptoms had not improved and she had lost all energy. She spent the following 3 days in and out of the vet on an IV, as our vet in Humboldt does not offer 24 hour care, undergoing numerous tests, X-rays, and ultrasounds, all of which came back negative and our local vet did not have the resources available to probe deeper to get answers for her sudden decline in health. Her condition never improved and we made the decision to take her to a specialist out of the area so that she could get the full care that she needs and deserves. If you know anything about Amanda and I, you know that we love our animals more than anything in life and would do anything to make sure that they are happy, healthy, and safe. Scout is an incredible little dog and a member of our family. It breaks our hearts to see her in this condition and not have any answers for why or how we can help. Veterinary emergencies are never expected, but this one has hit us especially hard emotionally and financially. At this point, we have paid $4300 for emergency care, testing and medications, with the possibility of an additional $2300 estimated by the specialist in southern OR depending on how she does over the next 24 hours. We will do anything to help get her back to the fun-loving, energetic, sweet Scout dog we know. Anything you are willing to give will help us make that a reality, even as small as a share on your socials. We love Scout and are hopeful for her recovery. Thank you for reading and for helping her to heal.
