Project Guardian Angel John 16:33

On August 9, 2014, my husband and I experienced the darkest days of our lives. Our then five-year-old daughter had to be airlifted from a hospital in Salisbury, Maryland, when her organs started shutting down. Her kidneys were failing and her blood pressure was dangerously low. She was flown to Children's National Hospital in Washington DC, where she spent 4 days in ICU and 4 more days on the neurology floor. By the grace of God, our daughter walked out of the hospital 8 days after she was flown in. Our community rallied behind us during our experience, and it's our turn to give back.
We have started "Project Guardian Angel, John 16:33" . This project provides every child that leaves our community by helicopter or ambulance with a stuffed animal, fleece blanket, and toothbrush and toothpaste kit. Many children have to be transported without their parents and that can be a scary experience. Their families are also provided with a complete toiletry kit, since the last thing my husband and I thought about was a bar of soap during our experience.
Since there is an average of 25 transports a month (300 a year), we cannot complete and maintain this project alone. Each complete kit for children and their parents costs us $20 to put together. We will need to raise about $6,000 per year to keep the project going. We've already got the next 38 transports covered!
We appreciate any and all help that you can offer. With 300 children from the Eastern Shore being transported every year, most emergent situations with children who are very sick, this is a project that affects us all. We thank you so much for your support. Let us always remember what John 16:33 teaches: "I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world".
