38 year old Alfredo and his wife Adriana had recently purchased their first home. On March 14, Alfredo, Adriana, and their 8-yr old daughter, Diana, were moving into their new home. They had two co-workers just arrive to help unload their belongings from a rental that late that afternoon, when Alfredo suffered a massive bleeding stroke. His wife and two co-workers quickly dialed 911 and he was taken to the emergency room in Katy. Later, due to the gravety of the condition he was rushed to the Medical Center's Methodist Hospital where the Neurological Intensive Care Unit took over to treat the bleeding stroke. The neurologists and doctors at the NICU quickly performed brain surgery on our beloved "Fredo" to repair the ruptured bleeding vein that with every ticking second was causing unknown damage. Although Alfredo was only given a 20% chance of survival through that particular surgery, he has fought his way and we know he will continue to fight. The NICU team have performed multiple Cat Scans, X-Rays, and other procedures to treat Fredo. He is currently in a medically induced coma until the doctors can remove the remaining blood from the stroke. Doctors said he will be in the NICU for 2 to 4 weeks and may neeed extensive rehab after. They will not know the extent of the damage until all the excess blood is gone and completely drained and our Fredo has awaken and is responsive. Alfredo has been in the NICU for exactly one week today and has a long road ahead. Along with a long recovery, Alfredo and his family will have other battles to fight after he is better. Unfortunately, Fredo did not have health insurance. They were saving all of their spare income to realize their dream of becoming first time homeowners and purchasing their home. However they did not get to unload the rental truck before tragedy struck, Adriana has not left her husband's side and has not been able to work. Alfredo is a manager at a small cafe called Picnic wherehe has connected with so many patrons and co-workers who have becomelike family to him and now to us during this difficult time. We appreciate the support we have received from all of Fredo's friends, co-workers, and of course family. We would like to provide an avenue for anyone who wants to help through this fundraiser. We know Alfredo and his family will need assistance to pay for the surmounting medical bills, living expenses, and any additional unknown costs that may be incurred. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. Please post a happy or cheerful memory of Frado or motivating thought for him to read when he recovers along with your donation. Thank you all and God Bless!
